Ian has a B.A. in Political Science from Houghton College and an M.P.A. with a concentration in International Studies from the University of Washington. He has years of cross-cultural experience and service in Latin American and African communities. Ian has spent extensive periods in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda and is currently working in Sudan.

Amie has a B.S. in Education from Western Washington University, a M. in Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Washington, and is a National Board Certified Teacher. She is currently a 1st grade teacher in Washington state and has ten years of experience in the field of education. She has also worked in the non-profit sector with organizations like the Boys & Girls Club and Young Life and spends time volunteering at her church.


Tim Nygard

Tim Nygard Treasurer
Tim Nygard has a B.A. in finance from Seattle Pacific University in 2005. He has worked in the non-profit sector in accounting and management roles for the past five years and has been heavily involved in young life both as a leader and a member of the board. Tim has traveled extensively in Europe and East Africa. Tim currently lives in the Maple Leaf neighborhood of Seattle with his wife Alicia and their dog Cruz.

Penny has a B.A. in History from Reed College and an M.P.A. with an International Development certificate from the University of Washington. Penny has traveled internationally in India and worked in various capacities with international nonprofits. Penny is presently a social justice editor for the Burnside Writers Collective, an online magazine.

Peter Buck Board Member
Pete has a B.A. in Art History and a J.D. from Northwestern School of Law. He has been a practicing attorney for sixteen years, including roles as assistant general counsel to a non-profit health insurer in Washington State and general counsel for a Seattle-area medical device manufacturer. He currently works as president for a SaaS-based software company in Bellevue, WA.
